The morning’s top political stories:
Boehner faces challenge as GOP House leader
Rep. Dan Lungren, R-Calif., becomes the first rank-and-file House member to announce his intent to challenge the top House Republican in next week’s leadership elections. The No. 2 and No. 3 House Republicans have said they’re stepping down from their posts, but Boehner is seeking another term as minority leader.
Most House insiders consider Lungren’s attempt to be a long-shot at best; Boehner retains strong ties to his members despite recent losses.
Boehner’s reaction to the challenge by Lungren: “Dan Lungren is a respected member of our conference and a man deeply committed to the principles that have defined our party since the beginning.” The statement infers Boehner is confident of retaining his leadership position.

Senator Barbara Boxer’s aide arrested in child porn sting
Jeffrey P. Rosato, an aide to Boxer and a senior policy adviser on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, was arrested last Friday, the same day he was fired from Boxer's office, and charged with one count each of receipt and distribution of child pornography. He appeared in U.S. District Court in Alexandria on Wednesday and was released on his own recognizance, but he is forbidden to have access to children or computers.
According to an FBI affidavit, an unnamed person "distributed more than 600 files containing graphic images and movies of child pornography to an undercover detective that [the person] believed was a 13-year-old boy" over the course of more than 15 online chats, the Washington Post reports.
The Post says Rosato had worked for Boxer since 2005

Republican Governors meet and consider their new found power
As Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin was a star at the meeting as Republicans plan for a resurgence in the coming elections.
“On the federal level, we are now the minority party, but let us resolve not to become the negative party,” Palin told her fellow governors, along with assorted party. “Americans will be looking to their governors.”
The consensus of the meeting is a sharp focus on the immediate future – the elections in 2010.

Opinion:
Organizing for the coming battles
It’s obvious now that many of the same tactics employed by Democrats in the last election are being used to gain a favorable recount tally in Minnesota. There, Republican incumbent Norm Coleman faces a tight race with a failed left wing comedian.
In Georgia, its not a recount, it’s a special election to determine who will represent that state in the US Senate. Incumbent Saxby Chambliss faces a challenge by another Obama Democrat.
Both races are critical to the nation’s future since the outcome will determine if Democrats have a filibuster proof Senate through which they can ram an assortment of radical legislation . Among them is the conspiracy against freedom of speech posed by the threatened re-imposition of the so called “fairness doctrine”. Talk about mislabeling!!!
If passed, this outrageous law would force radio stations to provide fee time to counter conservative talk radio. This would force stations to take off such conservative talk show hosts as Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. Stations simply cant affort to furnish free air time to left wing rants. Liberal talk radio has been unable to survive in the marketplace. Al Franken and his crew came up short with their attempt and no other liberal effort has succeeded.
Only Public Broadcasting survives as a liberal talk radio voice – and that survival is due entirely to their being able to rip off unwilling tax payers to cover their expenses, pay the salaries of left wing reporters and commentators, and all the other things they do.
PBS would die on the vine if forced to face honest competition.
But honest competition is another matter liberals fear like a plague. Basically, liberals want government support because they are burdened with serious inferiority complexes and serious insecurity problems.
Gun control will also raise its ugly head should a filibuster proof Senate emerge. Confiscation of private fire arms has long been an obsession of liberals. Obama himself decried small town Americans (in his words) “clinging to their bibles and guns”.
Enough said.
Our troubling times are just beginning. Just how troubling will be revealed in the weeks immediately ahead as Obama reveals his cabinet and other key appointments throughout government. To date, those choices have not be reassuring.
Hang on, do what you can, if you can, and pray for the salvation of America.

Obama camp: Lawsuits by citizens are 'garbage'
Legal challenges spring up across U.S., demand proof of eligibility for office
By Chelsea Schilling
© 2008 WorldNetDaily
More than a half-dozen legal challenges have been filed in federal and state courts demanding President-elect Barack Obama's decertification from ballots or seeking to halt elector meetings, claiming he has failed to prove his U.S. citizenship status.
An Obama campaign spokeswoman told WND the complaints are unfounded.
"All I can tell you is that it is just pure garbage," she said. "There have been several lawsuits, but they have been dismissed."
NOTE: Obama has refused to provide proof of his place of birth as required. The burden is his, and he had not met it.
WND is tracking the progress of many cases across the U.S.

Rev. Peterson: Black Preachers are Worshiping the Wrong Messiah
...There shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies…2 Peter 2:1
Contact: Ermias Alemayehu, 213-804-1872, info@bondaction.org
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 13 /Christian Newswire/ -- With the November 4 election of Barack Obama, black preachers have been celebrating across the country. Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, Founder and President of BOND Action, Inc. is rebuking these black preachers for their part in electing the most left-wing presidential candidate in American history:
"Ninety-six percent of black voters supported Barack Obama and the majority of these voters were influenced by black preachers to put race ahead of their country and their faith," said Rev. Peterson. "How can ministers who are supposed to lead their flock to Jesus Christ instead lead them to a socialist like Obama? The truth is that most black ministers don't have a real relationship with God and they are leading their congregations to hell. These blind leaders helped elect their black 'Messiah'. This 'Messiah' happens to be the most left-wing member of the U.S. Senate," said Rev. Peterson.
Here's where president-elect Obama stands on key issues:
• Believes in abortion on demand (virtually under any circumstance), and has told Planned Parenthood that sex-ed for kindergartners is 'the right thing to do' (as long as it's 'age appropriate');
• Has promised to repeal the federal Defense of Marriage Act and would allow homosexual 'marriages' to be made legal in all 50 states;
• Would appoint far left activist judges who'd pervert and misinterpret the U.S. Constitution;
• Has pledged to dismantle 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' in the military. Supports open homosexuality, bisexuality, and transexuality in all military branches, barracks and shower facilities.
This is what influential black ministers said after the Obama election victory:
• Bishop T.D. Jakes of The Potter's House church said that Sen. Barack Obama's campaign "encouraged, validated and gave inspiration to not only the people of the United States of America, but to the people of our world."
• At Harlem's Abyssinian Baptist Church, Rev. Calvin Butts invited his congregation to stand up "and give God praise for the election." Several hundred churchgoers rose as one and cheered, "Yes we can! Yes we can!"
• Grammy-winning gospel singer, Rev. Shirley Caesar-Williams said, "Too long we've been at the bottom of the totem pole, but he [Obama] has vindicated us, hallelujah."
• Rev. John L. Lambert, Bethel AME Churc h in Indianapolis, "If ever there was an answer to 'who cometh to our help?' that was the answer...Look at what God has done."
• At Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, Rev. Otis Moss, III, said history would note that Trinity was the holy place where "God stirred a young man's soul and put him on the path to the presidency."
Rev. Peterson added: "For the past eighteen years I've said that most black preachers are not called by God, but instead are called by their mammas. If there was ever a time that this was the case, that time is now. In order for black Americans to turn around, they must drop their anger, and find the truth within themselves, not from corrupt, racist preachers or from a false black Messiah

Obama’s Road to Damascus
By John Perazzo
FrontPageMagazine.com
History will record that Barack Obama’s first act of diplomacy as America’s president-elect took place two days after his election victory, when he dispatched his senior foreign-policy adviser, Robert Malley, to meet with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad—to outline for them the forthcoming administration’s Mideast policy vis-à-vis those nations. An aide to Malley reports, “The tenor of the messages was that the Obama administration would take into greater account Egyptian and Syrian interests” than has President Bush. The Bush administration, it should be noted, has rightly recognized Syria to be not only a chief supporter of the al Qaeda insurgency in Iraq, but also the headquarters of the terrorist organization Palestinian Islamic Jihad and the longtime sponsor of Hamas—the terrorist army whose founding charter is irrevocably committed to the annihilation of Israel. Yet unlike President Bush, Obama and Malley have called for Israel to engage in peace negotiations with Syria.
A Harvard-trained lawyer and Rhodes Scholar, Robert Malley is no newcomer to the Obama team. In 2007, Obama selected him as a foreign policy adviser to his campaign. At the time, Malley was (and still is today) the Middle East and North Africa Program Director for the International Crisis Group (ICG), which receives funding from the Open Society Institute of George Soros (who, incidentally, serves on the ICG Executive Committee).
In his capacity with ICG, Malley directs a number of analysts who focus their attention most heavily on the Arab-Israeli conflict, the political and military developments in Iraq, and Islamist movements across the Middle East. Prior to joining ICG, Malley served as President Bill Clinton’s Special Assistant for Arab-Israeli Affairs (1998-2001), and as National Security Adviser Sandy Berger’s Executive Assistant (1996-1998).
Robert Malley was raised in France. His lineage is noteworthy. His father, Simon Malley (1923-2006), was a key figure in the Egyptian Communist Party. A passionate hater of Israel, the elder Malley was a close friend and confidante of the late PLO terrorist Yasser Arafat; an inveterate critic of “Western imperialism”; a supporter of various revolutionary “liberation movements,” particularly the Palestinian cause; a beneficiary of Soviet funding; and a supporter of the 1979 Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. According to American Thinker news editor Ed Lasky, Simon Malley “participated in the wave of anti-imperialist and nationalist ideology that was sweeping the Third World [and] … wrote thousands of words in support of struggle against Western nations.”
In a July 2001 op-ed which Malley penned for the New York Times, he alleged that Israeli—not Palestinian—inflexibility had caused the previous year’s Camp David peace talks (brokered by Bill Clinton) to fall apart. This was one of several controversial articles Malley has written—some he co-authored with Hussein Agha, a former adviser to Arafat—blaming Israel and exonerating Arafat (the most prolific Jew-killer since Adolph Hitler) for the failure of the peace process.

Liberal Censorship and Its Roots
David Limbaugh
The most unnerving aspects about the Democrats' sweeping victory Nov. 4 are their intolerance for dissent and their willingness to censor and otherwise suppress their opponents. Consider:
We keep hearing that Sarah Palin's criticism of Obama for "palling around with terrorists" increased death threats against him, which is bogus in the extreme but consistent with the inveterate liberal tactic of chilling conservative speech by saying it incites violence.
Ohio state employee Vanessa Niekamp said she was ordered to run a child-support check on Joe the Plumber, the man who asked Barack Obama an innocuous question about redistributing taxpayer income. Niekamp doesn't remember ever having checked into anyone else without having a legitimate
Reason to do so, such as discovering that someone recently came into money.
Democratic prosecutors in St. Louis threatened criminal prosecution against candidate Obama's critics. In Pennsylvania, lawyers for Obama wrote intimidating letters to TV and radio stations that aired unflattering ads documenting Obama's anti-gun record. The Obama campaign complained to the Department of Justice about the American Issues Project's ad tying Obama to William Ayers. Obama supporters flooded Chicago radio station WGN with harassing calls during its interviews of conservative writers investigating Obama.
On election night, Philadelphia police arrested a man who dared to wear a McCain-Palin '08 T-shirt at an Obama celebration rally. What's scarier is that the Obama crowd reportedly chanted with joy as cops arrested the man for exercising his freedom of political expression. According to the liberal worldview, arresting someone for disagreeing with you is not censorship, but implying someone is not patriotic is.
Obama has made no secret of his plan to pass "card-check" legislation, which some have described as the most radical revision of labor law since 1935. It would permit unions to eliminate secret ballots -- against the wishes of 78 percent of union members -- which would represent a radical blow to democratic principles.
Democrats fully intend to reinstitute the Fairness Doctrine, a euphemistically named regulation aimed at shutting down conservative talk radio, which Sen. Chuck Schumer has compared to pornography. Remember that conservatives have never advocated government action to suppress or censor the liberal media monopoly, which has existed for decades and still dominates mainstream media today. Their answer was the alternative media.
But what is even more frightening than the sinister schemes of liberal politicians to silence and criminalize political opposition is the apparent eagerness of rank-and-file liberals to go along with them, as witnessed by the many examples I've cited and numerous gleeful e-mails I get taunting me about the imminent re-invocation of the Fairness Doctrine.
I believe this arrogant attitude can largely be traced to the top-down indoctrination in our schools, cultural institutions and media that liberalism is morally superior because it is tolerant, diverse, intellectual and enlightened. This view holds that conservative expression doesn't deserve constitutional protection because it is inherently evil.
