For those, such as the controversial Democrat Congressman -- the infamous Barney Frank, a moment should be taken to recall Pearl Harbor and how such attacks against this nation can come without warning. Barney wants to cut our ability to defend ourselves by 25%. Rank irresponsibility and amnesia about 9/11. It was Democrat weakness and Clinton refusals to respond to terror attacks that invited 9/11.
The days top political news:
Republicans win Congressional race in Louisiana
Indicted Democratic U.S. Rep. William Jefferson was ousted Saturday from his New Orleans area district. Democrats had defended him, despite the fact $90,000 in cash was found in his freezer.
In a year when national Republican fortunes took a turn for the worse, Louisiana delivered the GOP two seats in Congress in elections delayed by Hurricane Gustav.
Republicans also narrowly held on to the seat vacated by a retiring incumbent.

All three US Auto Company restructuring plans are heavy on promises to build the "green" cars that a Democratic Congress wants built.
Plans, schemes and negotiations have kept Congress and the White House working throughout the week end.
After Barney Frank was done roughing up the CEOs, he hustled them out to hear from David Friedman of Union of Concerned Scientists and Jeffrey Sachs of the Earth Institute. Mr. Friedman warned the Members not to give one inch on fuel-economy standards and not to relax the environmental strings attached to the $25 billion Congress has already made available to the car companies
The ultimate outcome of the debate remains in question.

Obama unveils his own version of the “New Deal”
The president-elect also said for the first time that he will “launch the most sweeping effort to modernize and upgrade school buildings that this country has ever seen.”
“When Congress reconvenes in January, I look forward to working with them to pass a plan immediately,” Obama says in the address.
Massive taxpayer spending would be required

Opinion:
Louisiana GOP Congressional victories – light at the end of the tunnel getting brighter?
Added to the Senate GOP victory in Georgia Tuesday, this has been a good week for Republicans.
Only yesterday, Internet political talking heads were predicting Democrat Congressman William Jefferson would win – some suggesting even an easy win – despite Jefferson’s having been indicted.
Jefferson is the Democrat Congressman in whose home freezer, FBI officials found $90,000 in cash. Jefferson could not, of course, offer a viable defense or explanation. None-the-less, the Democrat Pelosi-led Congress had allowed Jefferson to continue in Congress as if nothing had happened.
What’s a little bribery here and there? After all, Alcee Hastings continues as a Democrat Congressman without blinking an eye. Hastings was ousted as a federal judge on charges he solicited bribes while on the bench.
So much for Pelosi’s pledge of “the most ethical Congress in history”.
This week’s GOP victories are encouraging.
For one thing, voting patterns are showing non-Obama voters turning out at a far higher number than in November. That was striking in Lousiana.
In Georgia, I have been told that while the University town of Athens gave the Obama Democrat a sizable majority over incumbent GOP Senator Saxby Chambliss, the counties surrounding Athens – suburbs with residents with a far more normal outlook – went heavily for Chambliss.
Liberal corruption within academia rages on. It is particularly depressing when I see such insanity being reflected by my own home town of years ago. (BTW I’m hardly anti rational academia – my father was a professor at the University of Georgia for over 30 years)
Normal Americans are beginning to strike back. (Now if we can only devise a way to clean the voting rolls of the fraudulent names Obama’s own ACORN registered. A successful democratic process cannot survive in an environment in which the lists of those eligible to vote are corrupted.
Obama’s ACORN corrupted voting registration lists all over the country.
Chambliss didn’t just win – he trounced!
Pollsters predicted a Chambliss win by about three points, he won by just under 20. The victory was powered by a simple concept -- if Obama Democrats could defeat Chambliss, they would dominate the Senate with a majority sufficient to cut off any filibuster or debate.
(While this Democrat prospect was staved off – in the name of honesty, I must point out the GOP has some Senators who frequently stray off the straight and narrow and vote in favor of outrageously liberal bills authored by liberals.)
A bit of pruning is needed by the GOP.
Meanwhile, it’s time to gather the forces of normal America, ask for their prayers as they cling to their bibles as Obama claims, make sure there guns are safe, and look for what needs doing to win the next election.
That effort may be powered by stopping liberal insanity from liberal Democrats. That message worked for Chambliss, and it might play a role in 2010.
But the GOP should also get back to basic issues and begin with focusing on an issue on which Democrats are surely vulnerable – confronting and dealing with illegal immigration and the threat it poses for the very American secutiry that Barney Frank wants to cut by 25%.

Merry Bailouts and Happy New Deal
Kevin McCullough
......my parents gave to ministry and charities when I was little by the dozens even though we lived in a house that was purchased for $12,000, and my dad never made as much as $50,000 a year in his whole life.
Even though I personally experienced tremendous economic set-back, job loss, financial hardship, and major struggle in 2008, somehow--by God's grace--we still were able to help build homes for those without them, feed starving children, and numbers of other things. Yet if the bailouts continue, I may not be able to continue to do these or other acts of charity, that I feel strong conviction to do.
I don't say this to flaunt anything in public, but rather as justification.
Justification to tell Washington DC to shut the faucet off. Tell everyone who comes knocking, "No!"
Explain kindly that times are excruciating, that the average worker in America is not able to give more than they already are, and show them the door.
It may make for an uncomfortable set of meetings on Capitol Hill, but across the heartland it would win hearts, minds, and possibly votes.
The enthusiastic push that seems unquenchable from irresponsible companies, politicians who want or “have” to make good on favors, and the screaming manic voices on television and radio that insist we continue this cycle of crazed insanity are pushing us all into faster centralized control and socialized governance than ever before.
And when that happens we will be neither free to provide for ourselves, nor free to be ourselves. (And this doesn’t even begin to address the issue of defending ourselves from those in today’s world who wish us harm.)
Frankly, I'd just as soon depend upon my own creative problem-solving skills to insure my situation than Barney Frank's, because at least I know that my family's well being will be the central focus of my planning.
And though this holiday may be a little thin in numbers of presents under the tree, leaving our dignity in place, and allowing us a path to self reliant solutions may give us the best reason of all to think 2009 may in fact be a better year than 2008!
Everything else... is just white noise.
And I’ve “heard” enough!

Get Back in Your Jets and Go Away
Rich Galen
It's really all about General Motors, this big three bailout.
Chrysler is done. Gone. Out of business. Hanging on because no one knows where the light switch is.
Ford is only showing up because of some misguided Detroit auto manufacturer nonsense. Ford is, actually, in pretty good shape.
GM is the Oliver Twist in this drama. "Please sir, I want some more."
Two weeks ago the CEOs of the car companies flew in to Washington on their private jets and expected the Congress to toss up about $25 billion.
It was the jets. Dopes.
The jets were the metaphor everyone had been searching for which would crystallize the anger in regular Americans' minds about all the bailouts to all the greedy thugs who made bad bets which taxpayers are going to have to cover.
Why. Why is there such a focused antipathy toward the auto companies?
Several reasons. The car companies were not the first ones in.
The big Wall Street firms were. And we didn't like them. We spent hundreds of billions of dollars so the slick-hair, Manhattan, Limo, East-Coast-Beautiful-People could maintain their houses in the Hamptons.
Then came AIG - the insurance giant - to get into our gruel and we were really unhappy with that. Especially when they kept holding their high-roller retreats using our money to pay for someone else's spa treatments and truffels.
Finally came the banks which had made us grovel for car and home and student loans and charged us every time we sneezed and pretended they were there to help build out communities but were really there to suck money out of every pore of our communal bodies.
We were really, REALLY tired of all that.
Then the car guys flew in on their private jets and wanted $25 billion … just because.
I know the automobile industry hires hundreds of lobbyists who provide them with excellent advice.
I'm certain that what the lobbyists told the car guys was something on the order of this: Members of Congress and United States Senators are very, VERY sensitive to what their constituents think.
According to a CNN poll "nearly 1,100 people, showed that 61% of those surveyed oppose government assistance for the major U.S. automakers."
That's two-to-one against. Two constituents are opposed to bailing out the car guys for every one constituent who is in favor.
Get it?

FROM GRASS ROOTS.ORG:
President-elect Obama: It’s Time To Come Clean On Your Birth Certificate
Hawaiians applying for their state’s “Home Lands” program are strongly encouraged by the Hawaiian government to submit a “the original Certificate of Live Birth” instead of the “computer-generated Certification of Live Birth.” The computer-generated form -- the same document President-elect Obama is using to defend his status as a natural born citizen -- is not sufficient for the Home Lands program. Quoting their website: “Submitting the original Certificate of Live Birth will save you time and money since the computer-generated Certification requires additional verification by DHHL.”
It seems reasonable that the documentary requirements to substantiate holding the office of the President of the United States should be at least as stringent as the requirements for Hawaii’s “Home Lands” program. And so we begin our discussion of the odd resistance by President-elect Obama to the simple request that he release his original “Certificate of Live Birth.”
Why Obama must present his real birth certificate
Despite claims from the Obama camp, Barack Obama has never released his original Certificate of Live Birth or a certified copy of that document. He has instead produced a “Certification of Live Birth,” which even the Hawaii government views as something less that the original Certificate.
Obama has resisted any and all legal efforts to require him to present the Certificate of Live Birth. This is something he should have done very willingly… and long ago.
First, assuming Obama was born in Hawaii, he could end this controversy very quickly and gain the trust of millions of citizens who are growing more and more distrustful by the day by simply producing the long-form birth certificate.
Second, Obama is the first president since Herbert Hoover to have a foreign-born parent and among a very short list of presidents whose father was not a citizen at the time of his birth.
Third, there are conflicting claims as to Obama’s lineage and given the historic nature of his presidency, the original Certificate of Live Birth is an important historical document.
Fourth, if he is not natural born, his presidency is illegitimate. Period. There is no gray area here.
Exposing the Real Obama
Obama’s posture on this issue is quite revealing. First, it shows the lack of respect he has for his critics. When John McCain was questioned about his natural born status, the McCain camp quickly and efficiently ended the debate by providing full documentation. Obama has both dismissed and dissed those who would dare question him on this issue. This is par for the course for Obama’s treatment of political opposition. He removed from his campaign plane reporters from newspapers that did not endorse him. He speaks pejoratively about Fox News, Rush Limbaugh and the “right wing” media. He attacks members of the media who dare to ask challenging questions.
It also reveals the level of respect Obama has (or doesn’t have) for the Constitution. The Constitutional requirement of “natural born” is without dispute. The Founders did not require this status to serve in Congress or on the federal courts. But they did include this stipulation for the presidency. Only natural born citizens should apply. Out of respect for the Founders and for our nation’s history and for the office of the Presidency (all which are bigger and more important than Obama and his movement), Obama should take 15 minutes out of his busy schedule, walk to his family’s filing cabinet, and present the original Certificate of Live Birth.
Maybe Obama is not hiding anything. Maybe he is a natural born citizen. Maybe there is nothing embarrassing on the original Certificate of Live Birth. But that’s precisely the point. If there is nothing out of order, produce the document. Why fight in court to keep the document in the dark?
Get ready to Resist
Obama’s refusal to respect his critics on the birth certificate issue should be a warning to us all -- the worst is yet to come. Under the Obama administration, we should expect the full power of the government to be employed against conservative individuals and groups. Not only will we have to stop Obama’s socialistic agenda, we will have to fight for our very freedoms against an administration that does not respect us enough to provide the most basic evidence supporting his status as a natural born citizen.
That’s why I’m asking you to Join the Resistance.. Over 250,000 citizens have already joined. We want to rally and network 1 million by Inauguration Day. Please take a stand with us.

The new world devised by Maurice Strong and George Soros
Have you ever wondered how capitalism was pushed over the edge of the cliff just six weeks before the American presidential election?
According to financial experts, the world, as we know it will change dramatically by the year 2012. People, who provided for their families only three years ago, will be desperately searching for food.
The story of the economic meltdown of 2008 begins and ends with the United Nations and its carefully managed One World Order.
Behind the curtain of this dark chapter in human misery are ogres Maurice Strong and George Soros.
It is both power lust and an all-consuming hatred of the United States of America that elevated this deadly duo to ogre status.
Fortunately for all of those searching for answers, much of their plan for the world, post November 4, 2008 is already mapped out in writing.
Leading economic experts and Strong agree that in 2012 people will be going hungry.
“Strong has worked diligently and effectively to bring his ideas to fruition, He is now in a position to implement them.” (Henry Lamb, The Rise of Global Governance, available at soverignty.net). “His speeches and writings provide a clear picture of what to expect. In 1991, Strong wrote the introduction to a book published by the Trilateral Commission, called Beyond Interdependence: The Meshing of the World’s Economy and the Earth’s Ecology, by Jim MacNeil. (David Rockefeller wrote the foreword). Strong said this:
“This interlocking…is the new reality of the century, with profound implications for the shape of our institutions of governance, national and international. By the year 2012, these changes must be fully integrated into our economic and political life.”
These chilling words are in line with ones he used for the opening session of the Rio Conference (Earth Summit II) in 1992, that industrialized countries have:
“Developed and benefited from the unsustainable patterns of production and consumption which have produced our present dilemma. It is clear that current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class—involving high meat intake, consumption of large amounts of frozen and convenience foods, use of fossil fuels, appliances, home and work-place air-conditioning, and suburban housing—are not sustainable. A shift is necessary toward lifestyles less geared to environmentally damaging consumption patterns.”
The only change that has happened since 1992 is that Strong and Soros now have their Agent of Change coming to the White House.
In other words, the world according to Maurice Strong, is unfolding as it should.
